{"id":5,"date":"2019-04-11T12:15:06","date_gmt":"2019-04-11T16:15:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/2019.lehighvalley.wordcamp.org\/?p=5"},"modified":"2019-07-09T09:01:42","modified_gmt":"2019-07-09T13:01:42","slug":"call-for-speakers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lehighvalley.wordcamp.org\/2019\/call-for-speakers\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Speakers"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">WordCamp Lehigh Valley is currently looking for speakers to inspire and inform at least 125 attendees including: designers, developers, bloggers, and content strategists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sessions will be 40 minutes, with 25-30 minutes allotted for your talk and 10-15 minutes for Q&amp;A and further discussion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The deadline to submit your application is 11 PM on Monday, June 3rd, 2019. (extended till June 7) You will be notified when a decision about your submission is made, no later than mid-July.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">General guidelines for speakers<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We\u2019re looking for talks that are relevant to casual WordPress users, experienced developers, and anywhere between. You do not need to be a professional speaker, but you should be knowledgeable about the topic you are presenting. You are encouraged to apply even if you have never spoken at a WordCamp before. If you need some inspiration, take a look at some of the great talks published on&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/wordpress.tv\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">http:\/\/wordpress.tv\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All submissions are reviewed by the organizer committee. Be prepared to submit your speaker slides or review your presentation with an organizer prior to the event if asked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Speakers will be provided free admission to WordCamp Lehigh Valley 2019 and also get to attend a speaker dinner, but we cannot reimburse travel, lodging, or other expenses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While all topics are welcome, we would like to see talks relating to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>WordPress Fundamentals<\/li><li>Blogging and Content Creation<\/li><li>Design and User Experience<\/li><li>Backend Development<\/li><li>Workflows<\/li><li>Marketing and Branding<\/li><li>Running a WordPress-Based Business<\/li><li>Themes<\/li><li>Plugins<\/li><li>Security<\/li><li>Digital Marketing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Know someone you&#8217;d like to hear speak?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you know a person who is a great speaker, or maybe a new speaker with tons of knowledge to share, and would like to nominate them to speak, get in touch via our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/2019.lehighvalley.wordcamp.org\/contact\/\">Contact Form<\/a>&nbsp;and let us know who it is, where they are located, and what it is they speak about, as well as a way for us to get in touch.<\/p>\n\n\n<p><strong>Our Call for Speakers has closed.<\/strong><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>WordCamp Lehigh Valley is currently looking for speakers to inspire and inform at least 125 attendees including: designers, developers, bloggers, and content strategists.
